On June 25, 2016, Chapel Tinius of Bowling Green was crowned Miss Kentucky's Outstanding
Teen 2016. She is the daughter of Jim and Dana Emberton-Tinius and she attends Bowling Green High
School. Her platform issue is Operation Gratitude: Veteran Appreciation Awareness. She performed
a fiddle/vocal medley of "Devil Went Down to Georgia" and "Orange Blossom Special" for her talent presentation and received
Preliminary Talent, Instrumental Talent and Overall Talent Awards for her performance. Her future ambition is to
become a physician.
Chapel represented Kentucky at the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Florida, August
2-6, 2016, where she received a Non-Finalist Talent Award and the Instrumental Talent Award!
MKYOT has partnered with Fund for the Arts to create more opportunity for the students of Kentucky through
the arts. Chapel, as well as future MKYOT winners, will serve as an Arts Ambassadors promoting this program throughout Kentucky.
